The sea is calling. Have you seen those cruise commercials on TV? I love those but I tell you…the sea is calling me in August with a family vacation to Florida and when I think of that…I think of swimsuits… and when I think of swimsuits… I think of this last 30 lbs. I want to lose so badly. So, here it is…a new weekly post coming at you. I hope you will join me and some of our friends on a new journey.
Every Monday we will weigh in together (so to speak). I will do my best to write a post that motivates and supports you, whether you want to lose 5 lbs. or 50 lbs. I’m going to ask you to join me by sharing your ideas, recipes, and achievements in the comment section. Together we can build our own little sisterhood (Brothers, please feel free to jump on the bandwagon) and even though we are all already FABULOUS we will work on getting FIT too!
We are taking baby steps so this week my focus is on just eating healthy. I know that sounds trite, but I’m going to log my food in MYFITNESSPAL.COM (they have smartphone apps too) and I ‘m going to dedicate myself to staying within a certain calorie range. My doctor has given me a calorie range but if you are unsure how many you should eat, you can go to LIVESTRONG.COM and sign up for free and the website has a tool that will tell you how many calories to eat to lose the amount of weight in a week’s time that you want. You can also log your food there too. Now, isn’t that convenient? 🙂
I have 3 goals for this week:
1. Drink more water. This means I’m going to give up my diet soda. I drink a lot of tea too, but I’m going to brew some green tea that is supposed to be healthier…according to Dr. Oz.
2. Eat less processed foods. I’m going to focus on eating real meat, veggies and fruit. This means I’m not going to eat any sweets (those poor people at work…I feel sorry for them this week…I’m sure I’m going to be cranky).
3. Journal my food intake to make sure I stay within my calorie range.
Some of my favorite places to source healthy recipes is, of course, Pinterest, skinnytaste.com, hungrygirl.com, and eat-yourself-skinny.com . Whoa! I have given you a lot to think about for a Monday, haven’t I?
